The Funky Appliance Company has appointed Staffordshire-based RKW as exclusive distributor for the UK and Ireland in a 3-year deal.
Founded in 2016 by husband and wife team Joe and Sadie Sillett, The Funky Appliance Company has developed a range of small domestic appliances, its debut product – the Funky Iron – gaining Good Housekeeping Institute Approval in 2019.
The new version of the Funky Iron is due to launch in the second quarter of 2020, with the Funky Kettle and Funky Toaster launching later in the year.
Founder & CEO Joe Sillett said the business is also “really excited” about designing and developing new products, including a Funky Microwave, for launch in 2021.
RKW Managing Director Rob Sutton, who came across the brand at Ambiente 2020, described Sillett’s appliance brand as “something fresh and different that we believe will find a strong niche in the marketplace”.
“He’s arrived in the right place at the right time, when a number of brands are struggling to innovate and offer anything new,” Sutton commented.
“I see a really exciting future for the funky brand and we are well placed to really help Joe and his team deliver on their plans.”
