THE FUNKY APPLIANCE COMPANY AIMS FOR PERFECT SEVEN ON SEEDRS
The Funky Appliance Company, based in West Sussex, co-founded by husband-and-wife team Joe and Sadie Sillett are back with their latest crowdfunding round on Seedrs, and are looking to make it a perfect seven out of seven funding rounds.
The company, which was founded in June 2016, has raised a total of £1million investment to date and has three core products: a Funky Toaster, a Funky Kettle and a Funky Iron.
The Funky Appliance Company partnered with Europe’s leading SDA (Small Domestic Appliances) and Housewares distributor RKW (Retail Knows Why) based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, with distribution of the company’s eye-catching products now gathering pace with 81 retailers in the UK and Ireland now ranging Funky goods, as well as several leading UK online retailers.
The Funky Toaster which was launched earlier this year has received the coveted status of “Good Housekeeping Approved” and is a Finalist in the “Best New Product Small Domestic Appliances” at the ERT Awards 2021 in London on Monday 6th December. It is also Ideal Home Magazine’s “Best 4-Slice Toaster” and the Independent’s Indy Best “Best Toaster Tall Bread”.
The new funding round launched on Seedrs to the public yesterday and is already at 50% of the target.
Joe Sillett, Co-Founder and CEO of The Funky Appliance Company, said: “We are really excited to be back on Seedrs again. We are looking forward to another successful campaign ahead of what promises to be a hugely exciting 2022 for us.”
The company has recently signed a 3-year exclusive global licence with RKW for the Funky brand to go into Housewares and Cookware.
Rob Sutton, Managing Director at RKW, said: “We partnered with Joe and his team at The Funky Appliance Company as we believe that his vision for unique and stylish looking appliances was a strong one.
“We are confident that we will see excellent growth in 2022 and are very excited to be launching a new Funky Housewares range in Quarter 1, and then a Funky Cookware range later in the year. We believe that the Funky brand will find a strong niche for itself in the market, and we are looking forward to supporting them not just in the UK & Ireland, but also internationally through the licensing deal we have signed with them.”
